IR Blaster not working (FIX)

First, we will need to know what is IR?

What is actually IR?

IR (Full Form: Infrared) is a piece of technology that emits electromagnetic radiation and the IR receiver receives it by which many of the devices (TV, DVD Players, etc.) these days are controlled. That is the basic knowledge you should have about this.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, Fire, Exploding, etc. YOU are choosing to make these modifications. Your warranty will be void if you tamper with any part of your device.

Why IR blaster is not working?

This can be happened because of several reasons (Keep in mind these fixes and only for advanced users):

Reason 1: Your Android device is not compatible with IRs (Mostly due to Driver incompatibility): This can be easily checked by checking if the IR Blaster is working with your any another handset.

Fix for Reason 1: This can be fixed by changing your stock ROM to a custom one or if you are already in a custom ROM, you should revert to your stock ROM. There is no guarantee for this fix but its worth trying.

Reason 2: Because of the SELinux security module: A Linux kernel integrating SELinux enforces mandatory access control policies that confine user programs. This can be checked by going to your Settings<About Phone.

Fix for Reason 2This can be fixed only for rooted devices because you have to change your SELinux Status from "Enforcing" to "Permissive". There are many apps for that, you have just to GOOGLE it.

Reason 3: Using DIY IR Blasters: There is no problem by making your own IR Blasters but you have to do it right. If you do not have experience, Please test it with some of your old phones first.

Fix for Reason 3This can be fixed by checking if all the things you have done right (Connecting Terminals, etc). If everything is fine, you should test your IR LED and check if your IR is fine or not and check all the configurations of the software that you are using to control the IR Blaster (DIY).

Now, after doing all that if you are unable to fix this problem. Please use any another handset you have. You can COMMENT down, if you have any queries.

THANK YOU & Have a nice day…..
